出生于爱尔兰的Enya,原名Eithne N. Bhraonain，她的父亲Leo Brennan是一支爱尔兰民谣乐队的领队，并且母亲也是业余的乐手；Enya自小受到音乐的熏陶,并显现出一定的天份。1979年，Enya加入爱尔兰一著名的家庭乐队组合Clannad任键盘手，并且还为许多电视节目配乐；到了1982年，Enya发觉流行方向更加适合她，便毅然离开乐队独闯天下；刚开始时，Enya并未受到瞩目，直到1988年她推出Watermark大碟，碟中一曲Orinoco Flow,将她那种清悦如仙女下凡的演唱感觉完全散发出来，此曲也成为Enya奠定基石的作品，并将当代凯尔特音乐带入了流行层面。
由八十年代进入九十年代，Enya的份量依然受到认同，并且被“格莱美奖”提名，其音乐风格和路线，已被完全肯定。唱片在全球总销量超过千万张，是叫好又叫座。
这首Orinoco Flow 选自《Watermark》(水印)专辑.Watermark水印连续在92、93两年盘踞Billboard新世纪音乐专辑年终榜第5名与亚军的席次，并首度获得葛莱美奖最佳新世纪音乐专辑的提名，单曲Orinoco Flow蝉连英国金榜3周冠军。
