我不是个画家，但撷取美的片刻是我的心愿。
我不是个作家，但记录每一次的感动是我的习惯。
仔细想想，生活的本身即是书、即是画。也许前一刻，我们是阅书观画的读者，下一刻，却又变成书中主角、画中人物了。更有可能，我们同时既是读者，又是主角。
每个日子，都是内容不同的一本书，风格迥异的一幅画。只是我们的脚步太匆忙了，常常忘记去读它，欣赏它，随意地浏览过去，便断言生活是一味地今日抄袭昨日，只是公式化的食衣住行罢了。阅读，不仅是认识符号而已，更要懂得符号所传递的内涵;二观画，也不只是五彩缤纷的调配，细细想来，画中原是有画。
我是个小人物，只希望自己别那么匆忙，希望能够静下来，老老实实地把生活一本一幅慢慢地看，用我的心细细品尝，并把感动的心情，一字一句、勤劳不倦地做成生活之细笔。
于是，处处美丽。

简媜，1961年生于台湾省宜兰县，台大中文系毕业，曾获吴鲁芹散文奖、时报文学奖等。是《台湾文学经典》最年轻的入选者，也是台湾最无争议的实力派女作家。著有《水问》、《只缘身在此山中》、《私房书》、《下午茶》、《女儿红》、《胭脂盆地》等十余种散文集。
