"Avantasia"是两个词的组合："Ava"来自"Avalon"（阿瓦隆，凯尔特族传说中的西方乐土岛,据说亚瑟王及其部下死后尸体被移往该岛），"ntasia"则是取自"Fantasia"（幻想曲）。Avantasia是一个灵魂与精神的精灵世界，向往权力的罗马教皇为了控制世人而不惜破坏Avantasia的世界，小修道士却借助精灵和小矮人的力量从教皇手中夺回了开启Avantasia世界的封印。
