瑞典——这个寒冷的北欧国度，和爱尔兰一样，永远也不缺乏清新脱俗的摇摆音乐。如果你厌倦了西雅图的硬核噪声或者曼切斯特的冰冷电子，那么你一定要感受一下来自瑞典成名已久的The Cardigans带来的凉爽微风 甜美的主唱、清新的风格，The Cardigans在沉寂五年后终于推出了新专辑《Long Gone BeforeDaylight》。五年的悄无声息让人几乎遗忘了他们的存在，像他们这样低调的乐队，永远让人关注的是他们音乐的本身而非他们自己。虽然主唱Nina Persson有着娇美的面容，你完全可以把她当成偶像人物来看，但她可不会像Courtney Love那样打着摇滚的幌子靠毒品和脱衣服来炒作自己。

《Long Gone Before Daylight》是Cardigans第五张大碟，仍然是他们最拿手的瑞典清新摇摆音乐，但对比以往的专辑显得更为成熟。与那首Youre TheStorm对比我更喜欢甜腻的开场曲Communication。而Please Sister和Live And Learn都可以成为Cardigans日后的经典曲目。最特别的一首歌是For What Its Worth（这首歌曲曾在专辑正式发行前作为单曲推出），流畅的旋律清脆的吉他不说，Nina一段隐而不露的口琴Solo以及高潮部分高亢的吟唱令人百听不厌。

对金发碧眼和简陋甜腻的小情歌的避讳使The Cardigans像是患上了自我厌恶症。他们一直在抗议，因为他们不想成为大众的娱乐对象而是想被认为很摇滚。所有这些轻淡优美的retro-pop作品对他们而言都像是一个具有讽刺效果的玩笑，最终他们还是阴差阳错的成为了一个全世界范围内的流行“现象”。

这不是一张听起来欢快轻巧的专辑，要将千篇一律的恋爱情歌或者失恋情歌做好，这的确是个很复杂的技巧，但是NinaPersson可以做到。在“Couldnt Care Less”中她懒洋洋的分析了一份感情，她唱到“Were just not there any more,but we really dont care, do we?(我们再也不能像以前那样了，但是我们并不在乎，是吗？）”，或许这首歌显得脾气很坏，你从中可以看出他们已经变的越来越冷漠。也许是他们想成为紧张神经质的Fleetwood Mac，这张《Long Gone Before Daylight》像是祛除了血腥和可卡因的70年代专辑，甚至可以用灰色来定义它，其中主要的节奏显得有些呆板生硬。专辑中的亮点是《Communication》和《Please sister》.
