第一次看到jennifer warnes的介绍，是《CD·365·BEST：欧美音乐经典之旅》这本书里，评价非常高。 那是快放假回家的时候，我在图书馆借了这本书，然后在火车上看的。对于这张专辑封面和介绍，印象很深。
歌曲虽然叫做《lights of lousianne》（路易斯安那的灯火），但这首歌怎么听都让人感到有浓烈的苏格兰草原气息。也许苏格兰也有一个口叫路易斯安那的地方? 这是美国知名女歌手詹妮弗·沃娜斯1992年的专辑《猎人》中的一首。这之前，她的一张叫《蓝雨衣》的唱片几乎成为发烧友的身份证，成为试音校声的必播碟。事实上，詹妮弗的每一张唱片录音都很上乘，好象是专为发烧友演唱的女歌手。詹妮弗的歌声自然成熟，不乏知性色彩，有点象大家熟悉的台湾歌星蔡琴，不经意地透露着妖媚。这首歌她真假声并用，显示出扎实的技巧。这首歌的开头部分是最优美迷人的，手风琴奏出十分苏格兰风的引子，接着有几声夜莺的啼鸣，然后吉他的轻拨慢拢带出詹妮弗的哦吟，犹如乘着晚风，在星空中鸟瞰美丽的城市，一片阑珊灯火。这也是发烧友最乐意用来试音的段落。(网络整理)
