来自美国新墨西哥州的四人乐队The Shins可以说是Indie音乐领域中最成功的乐队之一—不但在全世界拥有大批歌迷，2003年还被《Rolling Stones》评选为年度最佳乐队。唱片销量甚至超过许多主流乐队，也算是个不大不小的奇迹了。虽然他们来自美国，音乐风格却带有些英伦气息，低调另类，一些曲目呈现出一种忧伤的旋律感。这支乐队奉行的是代代相传的Do it yourself的真理，乐队的风格很低调，简单清爽的旋律仅仅是由键盘和吉他两种乐器结合而成的。
他们的风格融合乡村歌谣的甜美与民谣摇滚的明亮旋律，无论是 “Caring Is Creepy”的激昂洒脱，还是“New Slang” 的可爱小调，都是让人心头为之一震的好歌，同时这2首也收入进04年的电影《情归新泽西》（此OST获得2005年葛莱美奖最佳电影音乐原声带）。（网络整理）
